Why do we need PEMF Therapy ?
We live in a toxic world and the natural mechanisms designed to ensure cells health have been damaged. What is the science behind PEMF Therapy?
PEMF technology is more than a century old. PEMF technology originated from NASA’s research involving the benefits of pulsed electromagnetic fields on astronauts for fatigue, depression, bone loss and muscle degeneration following long space missions. Prior to the invention of the first PEMF machine, Nikola Tesla created the first magnetic loop coil, which are now used in all modern PEMF machines. Technology has advanced allowing us to set customized frequencies and intensities to optimize your specific health goals.

Is PEMF safe?
PEMF is not only safe, but also relaxing. There are no long-term adverse effects to using PEMF and the body does not build up a tolerance to the stimulation. It can be used for extended periods and is safe for the entire body. There are no complications, no medications or invasive procedures associated with PEMF.
What are the Contraindications of PEMF ?
Pulsed magnetic field therapy should be avoided in individuals with implanted medical devices like pacemakers, cochlear hearing devices, spinal stimulator, or implanted defibrillators. PEMF Therapy should also be avoided in individuals with organ transplants, blood clots, those with a history of epilepsy or seizures, or individuals that are actively bleeding or pregnant. Our PEMF systems are completely safe for clients with joint replacements.
How Long Will it Take Before I Start Feeling Better?
Minor imbalances in individual cells can be rebalanced very easily before they become an obvious problem. Unfortunately, many people wait until they have a significant health issues before they seek better solutions for their health. Most clients start to see improvements with their symptoms within a couple of PEMF sessions with a decrease in pain and better range of motion.
After a few sessions clients start to notice the side benefits of better sleep, increased energy and better mood. PEMF works in conjunction with the body’s own recovery processes to relieve pain and heal damaged areas by restoring cells’ ability to function efficiently. If the problem took a long time to get to where it is now, or if there are multiple chronic conditions needing support, PEMF Therapy may take longer to give the greatest benefit. Proper nutrition, raw foods, hydration, and supplementation will aid in a faster healing process.
What are the Side Effects of PEMF Therapy?
With PEMF Therapy we typically only see side benefits. Your body will only accept the energy it needs, the rest passes through your body. Occasionally, clients will feel a similar residual soreness from cellular exercise as you feel with physical exercise. As the body starts to detox, initial adverse reactions may include headache or tiredness depending on how toxic the body is. Proper hydration, mineralization and nutrition will encourage your body to heal faster without adverse reactions. We always start with a lower frequency and intensity until we get to know you and how your body is responding to the therapy.
What If I'm Not Getting Results?
It is very unusual for a client to not be experiencing positive changes from PEMF Therapy. Hydration, supplementation, and nutrition are typically the main factor in slower results. Eating a variety of raw foods and getting physical exercise is fundamental. PEMF is exercise for our cells. Similar to physical exercise, the results are cumulative. The more consistent you are with it the better your results will be. Also similar to physical exercise, results are achieved much faster if you are coming in 2-3 times a week during the initial phase of your PEMF Therapy. Tendons and ligaments tend to heal at a slower pace, be patient. Our bodies did not get here overnight, give them time to heal.
It is important to communicate with your technician how you are feeling so we can determine if the frequency and intensity is working correctly for you. The surface-level inflammation of recently acquired acute orthopedic pain may dissipate within a few sessions. But a deeper dive into your body’s organs takes much more time. As a general rule, it takes on average 10 hours of PEMF exercise to develop a foundation of energy to optimize cell function. Chronic, long-standing issues will take longer to respond, and a maintenance program is recommended for best results.
What Should I Expect From my First Session?
Most clients feel great! The decrease in pain and increase in energy is felt by most clients right away. PEMF Therapy can help you feel energized and more focused, and this effect will last hours to days depending on your body. The sessions build on each other, so you will start to notice a cumulative effect where the positive effects last longer. Most clients use their sessions to unwind, nap, meditate or re-charge before returning to their routine schedules. It is a rare opportunity to relax in the middle of our day, as your body is repairs it is ideal to relax and let your body absorb the positive energy. Similar to a deep massage, some clients may feel tired or have a headache after a session due to a release of toxins. If this occurs, rest and drink plenty of fluids to promote rapid detox. Any detox reactions will disappear or decrease after a few sessions.
Can I use my Insurance or HSA Benefits for PEMF?
Services at Jolt PEMF Lab are typically eligible for reimbursement from your health savings or flex spending account. Check your plan for specific details and qualifying expenses. Unfortunately, insurance companies would rather cover the cost of your prescriptions, surgeries and invasive procedures. Insurance does not cover PEMF Therapy.
