Is Pemf The Same As Grounding?

What Are Pemf Mats?

The Aztecs and Mayans used magnets in medicine all the way back in 2000 BC. Paracelsus, who was a 14th-century alchemist, ultimately believed that magnets could pull disease from the body. Today, modern science has shown that magnets can benefit the body. However, magnets for healing are not believed to pull any illness directly from the body.

It’s no secret that all living things generate electricity, which is why PEMF mats utilize magnets to work with the electric energy within the body. Depending on the PEMF mat, individuals can use them for specific periods that can range from a few minutes to an hour.

Since these mats use pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), they don’t contain any electrons and they can’t deliver electrons to the body.

Benefits Of PEMF Mats

The majority of benefits stemming from the use of PEMF mats are related to increases in both energy and blood flow in the body. Other handheld PEMF devices will deliver electromagnetic waves to specific parts of the body, but PEMF mats remain as the number one tool for the professionals. Let’s look at a few benefits of these mats below.

Lessens Pain

PEMF therapy has been shown to lessen pain and even increase mobility in middle-aged adults who experience lower back pain. This therapy can ultimately change how cells in parts of your body respond to oxide-related signals, which impact things like blood flow.

Better Sleep

Research continues to suggest that PEMF can improve your sleep at night. This is especially true for individuals who frequently wake up throughout the night. Using electromagnetic therapy combined with medication can improve the overall quality of your sleep.

Improves Mood

PEMF mats also have the potential to benefit your brain. In fact, one recent study found that eight weeks of PEMF therapy provided significant improvements in symptoms of depression.

What Are The Differences Between Pemf Mats And Grounding Mats?

Grounding mats are meant to replicate the direct contact with earth individuals would feel walking barefoot. The earth’s surface has a negative electric charge, and when in contact with human tissue, there will be an equalization. Earthing hypothesis occurs when the body takes on electrons and builds up a static electrical charge.

Grounding mats will mimic the electric current of the earth, allowing individuals to bring this experience into their home. The majority of the biochemical reactions in the body will involve a dangerous electric shock.

While these two mats may appear similar, they ultimately operate on different principles. PEMF mats are used to harness the power of electromagnetic fields in order to interact with the electric energy of the body. Both PEMF and grounding mats have their place in health and wellness, but it is important to understand their differences to best suit your needs.
